To boost technological innovation and international cooperation in China’s biomass‑heating sector and support Chinese enterprises in “going global” and “bringing‑in” advanced resources, at the invitation of the World Bioenergy Association (WBA) and Pro Pellets Austria, a 17‑member delegation consisting of representatives from China Stove Web, Beijing University of Chemical Technology and relevant enterprises conducted a 9‑day study tour to Italy and Austria from February 28 to March 7, 2024.

Centered on high‑quality development of clean biomass heating, the delegation carried out a series of technical‑exchange activities. The group visited biomass‑pellet & boiler heating demonstration projects and end‑users in Austria, as well as local manufacturers of biomass boilers and biomass pellets.

The delegation paid official visits to key international industry bodies including the World Bioenergy Association, European Pellet Council, Italian Association of Agro‑Forestry Energy (AIEL), Greek Bioenergy Association and Spanish Pellet Association. The tour also included site visits to Progetto Fuoco (14th International Exhibition for Wood‑Fired Heating Systems & Equipment) and World Sustainable Energy Days (37th Austrian Energy Fair), together with participation in the 2024 European Pellet Conference .
